Here at the Learning Village we do our best to ensure that we work day-to-day with schools who support us with on-going development.

These schools are known as Learning Village hub schools. They are designed to:

  • Offer other schools, near and far, the opportunity to visit and see the Learning Village in action
  • Provide information about the Learning Village to other schools
  • Share good practice with the Learning Village team so it can be shared with others
  • Report any issues or bugs on the Learning village team so they are noticed and fixed quickly

In each Learning Village hub school the Head of Village has significant responsibility for the happiness and progress of their village population (their learners). They are the first point of contact if you have any questions.

Certified Schools

Michelle Ryder - Beechwood Primary School

Crewe

As Head of Village, it is evident that Michelle Ryder has worked tirelessly to provide consistent and high quality support to the EAL learners in her school using the wealth of scaffolded resources from the Learning Village. She has demonstrated a robust approach so that all EAL learners make steady progress in their everyday and academic language, phonics and spelling skills as well as reading fluency, comprehension and writing. Michelle has ensured that her learners’ confidence continues to grow and that their connection to their home language is fostered and nurtured.
Kirk Shuttleworth - Rounds Green Primary School

Kirk Shuttleworth and Rounds Green Primary School took part in the Certification process with the Learning Village to evidence and showcase how the Learning Village along with other types of effective EAL provision and best practice in the classroom have been implemented by the school to support their EAL and multilingual learners.

Learning Village and various other resources have been successfully used to support appropriate scaffolded differentiation in the curriculum to ensure excellent progress is made by all EAL learners in the school regardless of their English language proficiency and previous learning.

Evidence has been provided to demonstrate how all EAL learners and their families have been appropriately supported since their arrival in the school.

After thoroughly reviewing the school’s account with the Learning Village and examining all the evidence provided, we have been delighted to award Kirk Shuttleworth and Rounds Green Primary School the status of a ‘Learning Village Certified’ school.
